My month of love during a pandemic

The month of February is known as the month of love, this is when loved ones do grand gestures for their significant others just to show their love and affection for them. Mine how ever has been an interesting month filled with love just not in the traditional sense

Sister Weakened

My first weekend of love was an interesting one...in my opion.So the first weekend of February l went to visit my sisters specifically for a congratulatory dinner for Zinhle passing her ordinary level exams, (might add with flying colours).As usual while we were having dinner Dad was busy cracking jokes and telling us the kind of Mkwenyanas he wants, the criteria keeps changing every time we have dinner.Ngizwela abakwenyana at this point.

The weekend was filled with laughter games and you know where girls are concerned there is always some boy talk catch up sessions. Phela lango 2021 sisasemjolweni we need tips and reinforcement to deal with these boys… It’s a different kind of pandemic out here.If l told you some of the things we talk about l would be kicked out of the sister club so it’s safe to say I got to spend time and show love to my sisters and they got to show me love too.

Girls Weekend

Then came the girls weekend and boy was this filled with fun, food, drinks and laughter. Did l mention dancing too? Anyway my favourite of the weekend was the hot chair, it revealed Mjolo legends and little vixens. Again l prohibited to share the gory details, however what l can say is it was a great experience than what l am normally used too. I have found that as l am getting older l am more comfortable in my own skin and trying out new things, Joys of 30s.Back to the weekend we all slept at dawn well because l was now a little under the weather otherwise we would have made it to 6am.(that was the goal)

“Ngabahlalisa phansi hayi after that weekend they all went back to their senses l mean some are married and some are in stable relationships.(They might not agree but my ted talks always work the magic) It’s safe to say we all came out with our limbs still intact, l showed my girls some love and they showed me love too.

Lizbeth weekend

Moving right along to the Lizbeth weekend which was more Zen and peaceful...l could hear myself think so clearly (not to worry no murder was plotted against anyone) .So my third weekend of the month took me to Liz s home away from the populated city where l spent the weekend with love laughter and lots of food...l swear l gained a kilogram after that weekend, Liz kept feeding us and feeding us. Being there took me back to the good old days when Gogo Namanana was still alive and we would visit her every holiday.

Anyway back to the weekend, l enjoyed observing Liz and her man chat about sweet nothings giggling as they shared stories (young love is always fun to watch).One of my special moments was to observing the parentals still having the love friendship companionship that they still have even after so many years of marriage it gives us hope as a young generation who are quick to give up. All l can say is love was definitely in the air that weekend…it made me want to be the chief s 4th wife

Retail therapy Weekend

When you have just been paid and itching to get out some retails therapy usually does the trick especially when you have been on lockdown for 60 days you take every chance you get to get out. Sadly the weather was not really on my side and that makes it hard to keep trying out clothes when it’s cold and raining but never the less l was determined to show my self-love. Tried on a few tops and dresses till l found the one l wanted. There is always that one top or dress you leave the shop thinking about and for me it was this track suit set, it left me motivated to work hard to get it. Like l said retail therapy is good for the soul…l had my priorities straight after that day.l did show myself love with cute top and some lip gloss.

Well l have been rambling about sister love, girlfriend love, Lizbeth love and self-love an you probably wondering who showed her romantic love, well l will live you to ponder and wonder about that .A girl cannot devour everything with you …it might not be safe but l guarantee your secret is safe with me.I will say technology has a way to make people feel close to each other especially during a pandemic so that should give you a hint.
