There is nothing like death to set your priorities straight... To remind you that all the things you spend time thinking about are just but a waste of time. This morning l received a phone call from one of my customers who started by enquiring about bibles then later he informed me about his brother s death. At that moment the thought that came to my mind was l am never going to see Moses again, the last time l saw him was my last to ever see him but what l am happy about is that our last encounter was a pleasant one (that may not seem important until someone dies and you had had a bad encounter with them.) Working for Christian organisation is really an interesting experience you find yourself doing some counselling sessions, preaching sometimes, customers really comfortable telling you things that normally would have never told anyone.(Incase you where wondering why Moses told me about his brother s death).
He was not really close to me or anything yet somehow it shook me and made me realise that what l was actually worried about does not really matter at all. It’s funny how anytime you hear about someone passing it takes you right back to the last moment you probably saw them. Fast forward to 2020 March when the deadly Covid 19 virus first hits our beautiful nation which led us into a territory that we were not familiar with. I won’t even begin to mention the number of people who have succumbed to the virus. The words my condolences have since lost meaning we have said those too many times, everyone in the world has lost someone they love. Now if this pandemic did not shift you or move you to get your life in order well l will be praying for you as you read this.
Every day is a gift that we ought to be thankful for. Yes sometimes l may not have everything l want in life, but everyday l am alive is a chance to work on my goals or vision in life. I bet he didn’t think he was going to die that day but his life did end on that particular day so did his dreams. Death of a young person is somehow harder to accept than that of an old person, none the less death is the inevitable for all of us yet we cannot fathom it.It's something that humans battle with for as long as they have been alive. A wise man once said l want to die empty, l also did not understand it as well, he said because the grave yard is the richest place on earth that is full of people is ideas that they never got to do. I do not know about you but l do not want to die before l have exhausted all my ideas no matter how crazy they are.
l will end with a line from one of my favourite series Castle “all these people had plans Kate, dinner plans, work plans but they here. What are you waiting for.? What Kate s friend was basically saying was they had planned for the next day or month and they never got to see the next day or finish it for that matter (as for the rest of the story well watch the entire series to understand. Love, Live Laugh...and be grateful for each day you breath. Every day is a gift and a second chance to make amends or to do what is right, be happy, to enjoy the little things that is all that matters .In the words of chipochangu1.wordpress.com Tomorrow is not promised to us we can be unplugged at anytime.
What are you holding yourself from doing because you think you will do it tomorrow?
