I love you

I love you the three most abused and mis Understood words frequently used by human beings.Some belive in it some say they do not believe in it.Take for example two of my intresting friends we shall call them John and John John(for the purposes of this exercise hopefully they do not figure this out.)They do not believe in love ,John s reasoning is that people abuse the words to manipulate them into doing what they want.Is he wrong?

But what is love?Lets go back to basics the good book the bibles in 1st corithians 13vs4-7 the bible breaks down all the characteristics of what love is.So John is not entirely wrong about people abusing l love you but only exhibit one  or two characteristics as described by the bible.So are people lying when they say the three Magic words???

Take for example John John he does not believe in love but at one point he did the following for his girlfriend. He spend half of his school fees because it was his girlfriend s birthday so he had to make sure he did something for her ( l know parents are horrified reading this but you were also a teenagers once).Was this not sacrificing for love going back to our guidance of what love is?

The bible says its sacrificial.John 3 vs 16 is another example of sacrificial love.(You probably wondering and this guy does not believe in love come on..)He might not fully show all the qualities of love but he does believe in it lowkey (in the words of the 2000s)Isn’t it funny that if both were asked if they LOVE their moms the answer would be YES in heart beat.

Its not only the guys who have this tendency of showing their feelings to their partners.Take example lady A who travelled to Harare using her own finances after forcefully inviting herself over( l know you are thinking but why ?)Because she thought she was in love or was it Delulu sometimes they do look similar.The saga continued the guy never took her out and had said he would reimburse her money which he partially did.(l see all men say but why is she complaining because that was not the agreement .Was she manipulated using the words l love you?l will let the jury decide on this one.

I came across a podcast of two friends discussing about love and what constitutes love.One gave similar definition like the one l mentioned earlier on ,however the other said love is learnt behaviour take for example the Korean’s they express their love through acts of service like cooking a meal for you going out of their way to make sure you are comfortable when you are ill.At first glance they have a cold exterior and you would almost conclude they are unloving people it doesn’t help that they are not affectionate and may almost never say the words l love you.While Europeans say the words so easily to their friends family and significant other you find that this is passed on from generation to generation.Is love perhaps modelled by our surroundings?Both cultures show love just in different ways.

Lady B on the other hand thinks she wasted time  and energy thinking she could find love anywhere but that’s not true. Is it not society s definition of love that had her  disappointed .God never promised butterflies in the stomach.We keep chasing this movie kind of love but look at the states people end up divorcing because sometimes they look to humans what God can only fill.Notice how the bible never speaks of butterflies but It speaks of four types of love;

1. Eros- Physical or sexual kind of love

2. Philia-a deep emotional bond between friends

3. Agape -this is considered the highest form of love embodying selfless ,sacrifice and care for others

4. Storge-this is familia kind of love that happens between parents n children as well as siblings

M sure you now get picture of where we missing it.

I will end by saying a french author defined love as how much you miss a person when they are gone.In fact he puts it like this “today l finally discovered what true love is  when they gone it feels like a part is missing “.When that special person is gone its like incompleteness in abscess.We could debate this all day .

How do l define love?Well let me first get a book deal and l will tell you all about my definition.Remember be kind ,be patient and gentle with one another and remember love covers a multitude of sins.
