Mechanic In Heels

One Thursday after work..l met up with my aunt so that l could get a lift to family meeting (l guess in the white community its what they would call the rehearsal dinner) to finalise the wedding on Saturday (not my wedding kiki just had to clarify in case any potential bachelor is reading this).All was well until we had to get into the car..Yep you guessed right the car would not start.

Growing up in family full of girls only can teach you a thing or two about DIY in fact l think l am an undercover genius when it comes to DIY, anyway at this particular moment l did not want to show off my skills as l had an errand to do but l got a mechanic to handle the situation. Off we went with Thembela to collect our dresses only to come back and still find no progress.

Finally the ignition was able to start but that was not the fun part. Turns out one of the terminals of the battery was lose hence the car not starting in simple terms once the car was on we had to make sure it kept in motion …it sounds crazy. Imagine there are intersections and robots at some point a car has to stop and give way but not ours.

With all this in mind we drove off to the meeting praying the robots are green. First robot we passed it was not working and so it was a give way to car to your right kinda situation. You should have seen us shouting it sounded like we cheering our favourite football team. The next Robot however was working and it turned red just before we cloud pass and as was the fate of our car it switched off. Now imagine a short girl wearing formal work clothes in heels running to the front to open the bonnet to fix some lose terminal wire and yes the car did start at the next robot we devised a strategy of slowing down when approaching the robot if it's red and finally we arrived to our destination.

It was a crazy but fun journey…thanks to our car (tenda wasvika) we arrived where we were going.
