My Christian walk in a chaotic world

Growing up as a Christian is a blessing and is something that should not be taken for granted …however it comes with its own set of challenges that can have you in a confused and in conflicting state. You ask yourself so many questions, at times you feel as though no one can relate to what you are going through. Is it because we not praying enough, are we not spending enough time seeking after the lord. Surely no one can deny that sin has surely escalated, temptation is on another level (if you ask me it seems worse off than the times off David). When you turn on the Television or social media it seems the world is on fire.

People seem to be going through the motions, at church we all seem a lot closer to God but when we are alone it feels as if the lord is far from us. Take for example the year begins and its declared its year of prosperity and we all happy and in jovial mood but six months down the line you are not seeing the prosperity come to fulfilment. The questions start where am losing it, what should l do. Young people seem to have it little worse .There is a whole aspect of trying to discover who you are and trying to fit in the world. These enticing things do not help at all. Figuring out your walk with the lord and trying to fit in the world is sometimes challenging. You find you self-going through the emotions.
My personal favourite is trying to strike a balance between ragging sea of hormones versus what the good book says…no fornication. My bestie and l came up with a rather interesting term for this we call it going to airport …we don’t want to ride the planes well not yet but boy do we like to admire the planes, (Let me break it down airport is kissing planes are sex). The parent AL's are probably having a fit right now reading this .As much as we may like the airport it often causes a battle within oneself. Questions like have l gone too far, is the lord angry at me ,maybe that is why my prayers aren’t being answered .All these are thoughts that you find raging through your head and trust me they may eat you alive.
Just last week l saw a post on twitter someone asking how Christians handle anxiety, depression, panic attacks and feeling overwhelmed. Do you just pray it away and next day you are ok? It got me thinking how we handle such matters .I for one have what l call conversations with God. It’s like what you do when you visit your therapist, you basically let all that is in your chest out. That is what l do with God l tell him everything he is my counsellor besides there is nothing too hard for the lord. (Now that may not be conventional for some people especially those that are old school.)Going to your pastor or seeking professional help is also another route to go for those who may feel so overwhelmed to even pray or read the Bible for that matter. Do not suffer in silence.
I may not have the solution for young people but all l know is take it one day at a time. Let us stop condemning ourselves. He forgives all our sins and iniquities. If only we come to him earnestly. That however is not a ticket to keep doing wrong but it’s so that when you realise the wrong you have done to stop and run back to the lord. Beautiful thing is he loves us even when we don’t love ourselves (yes even when you feel as though he is far from you).So when you see me being ratchet don’t judge me l am still finding my way in this chaotic world…like Tasha Cobs sang “at the end of the day he loves me “and that is enough to keep me going.
