The Rich Wife

In 2021 l reluctantly called myself the rich aunty which has evolved to rich wife (do not ask so many questions l am a girl on a mission).l called myself rich wife not because of my future husband s wealth (l mean he better have the money LOL )but because God has blessed me with wealth of my own. Honestly when l called myself this there was no wisdom to it but instead it was to prove a point (do not ask again we woman are dramatic like that sometimes it’s the spice of life) but recently upon reading and having an insightful discussion with my CA something special was brought to my attention about the proverbs 31 woman.

Growing up we have been told of the proverbs 31 woman, it was used as the yard stick of how a woman should behave and carry herself in society particularly when she is married. There is a particular portion of scripture that most preachers do not share on .l am not coming for any one(put your spiritual guns down) but as wise person once shared with me sometimes we do not read the bible in full context. And fellas before you also come for me thinking this is some feminist movement do read this it will be insightful.

Ok bazalwane (in my preacher voice)l will not take much of your time…lithi ibhayibheli lami ( u could picture me on the pulpit KIKIKIKI)Now let me be serious.

If one reads the Bibles proverbs 31 from verse 10 to 31 it will give you context of what l am talking about and if you do not have a bible please do not hesitate to check out Bible society of Zimbabwe online store and get yourself a copy. This virtuous woman is a boss lady. She is running an empire and from her own profits that’s verses 16 purchases yet another business. This woman is a woman on mission on building wealth for herself and her family.

Please notice that just because she is a boss lady she in no way disrespects her husband in fact she does him good and not evil all the days of her life (verse12). Her husband is known not because of her notorious acts but because of her good works she does behind closed doors. My favourite part is that her husband not only supports her but he trusts her.(ye ye mina l want a proverbs 31 woman are u going to provide her with her emotional needs and support her in her industrious endeavors ?)

The last point l want to make before bible scholars come for me, is that she had help both at home and in her business. This myth of l can do it all multitasking is not necessary ladies.Infact a study was done to show that multi-tasking makes you produce mediocre results. No one wants a neurosurgeon multi-tasking while operating on their brain. I will leave the rest of the scripture to the Preachers (ukuthula ebandleni ).

Years later the name l gave myself as a joke is slowly turning into something more powerful than l realised. A RICHWIFE is there in the one book that most grounds me and that is the BIBLE.So if you see me having rich wife tendencies Abe go let me be l am trying to be a virtuous woman. A TRUE PROVERBS 31 WOMAN
