The Things we do for love

Updated: Sep 19, 2023

As the month of love is ending as declared by the world, l am reminded by all the things we do for love the extreme the good or bad, the things that when we look back we wonder WHAT WAS I THINKING.

I am reminded of one time l also did the most for love, in my younger naïve years.Mjolo guys will make us do the things you sore you would never do. Here l was at home saying l was going on a trip to visit a friend who had recently graduated (in my defence it was not entirely a lie) but it was not the only agenda of the visit.

Yes you guess right l hoped into the bus (your girl needs air mileage because buses always have drama God designed me for soft life it’s a sign.l must just comply) off to a secret destination l went…phela lina nithanda indaba I will not say location. All was well until the bus got stuck in the middle of no way and he driver just left us in the bus no explanation as to where he was going or what was wrong with the bus(here goes bus drama). Debate began, among passengers some saying it’s the engine some saying it’s the battery honestly is it me whose always met people who seem to know it all about everything unfortunately they were all wrong the bus had simply run out of fuel (l can see your face njani, but you have to understand this is Zimbabwe we are talking about)
At this point deep down l wondered was the trip having glitches because l was not fully honest, was l JONNAH of this generation shipping sinking because of me.I quickly convinced myself it could have not been the case because guys we were killing two birds with one stone, utilising resources in a great manner (my pep talk game is very strong l must say).We were back on the road ,l thought the worst was over until we were stopped by the traffic police who were so mean l was so sure l was the JONNAH and silently said a prayer, not again lord l have good intentions(ngidinga umendo nje ..lol l forgot about my friend s graduation celebration). It took one old lady to save us will take it as God answered my prayer and move on.
A journey that was meant to take 19hours ended up taking almost 24hrs...(l wont mention the fact that l had a lot of cash with me and these dramatic stops were not helping a girl at all.In the end l did arrive to my destination tired and in not a good mood.
