Valentines Day :A mixed Bag of Emotions

lt’s the month as it has been coined over the years (can l personally be part of the committee that decides such holidays) What exactly makes February the month of love, why that month out of all the other 11months.My little sister of course will say it’s because it’s her birthday month. (Kind of surprised why this year it’s not an anthem trust me she got an anthem of her own). However over the years dating as we know it has really changed not that anyone really knows the rules. Some are in traditional relationships,situationships,consciously single, relationship go getters ( Its a roller coaster ride that is scary and fun at the same time).Days like Valentines day s just add pressure to already confusing complicated relationships with so many different terms. Some even go on to describe it as a pandemic likening it to current corona virus pandemic extreme maybe but if you herd some of these stories going around you would understand. Like the recent one of the Tinder Swindler. Call these women names but all they wanted was to be LOVED and maybe just MAYBE receive a VALENTINES DAY gift.(PRESURE OF THIS DAY AFFECTS ALL AGES)

Let’s talk about the emotional stages of Valentine’s Day

Anticipation: Many ladies and girls are anticipating and eagerly waiting for gifts flowers, the whole shabang.I know some high school girls and boys are doing count down to the day maybe for different reasons

Happiness: According to science this is good because the more you are happy the more it is good for your life style, boosts your immune system. We already know what happens here people will be receiving gifts

Disappointment:Disappointment: Sadness, anger, embarrassment, resentment is what usually happens to you on February 14th if you do not get anything. I won’t even mention those that are single this time of the year .They feel the lonely, Which usually leads them to fall into traps just so they are not alone this time of the year.

So is it healthy to continue promoting this day? Cause if you ask me from a Marketing stand point its good for business… (Sorry that’s the Marketer in me) Doctors might not agree as it leaves ladies feeling like there is there something wrong with them, why where they not picked (DEPRESSION and ANXIETY) kick in at this point. As for the guys they busy breaking their banks for the grant gestures trying to out do the last guy or even last year’s gift.

Oh l did not forget about the guys that claim they do not believe in valentine’s day, rightfully so l mean l also do not ,but that does not mean l do not want to receive DORITOS and flowers on the day.

Do women put too much emphasis on such things to the point just to point that Men have resorted to THE MEN S CONFERENCE?
